Monday July 7th – Faldo Front 9
Forgive the self indulgence but this Monday saw the first hole in one of the S2B Society scored by non other than…….Russell Yeomans! Witnessed by our sponsors, Paolo Serra and Andrea Colo from DWC Business Parks together with Simon Earl, Russell’s 7 iron of 160 yards dropped at dead pace into the hole, just inside Simon’s great tee shot to 8 feet. Unfortunately there was no NTP on the hole for the first time (we moved it to closest to the 6th in 2) so Russell won nothing, bought a round (mostly beers plus Eric’s specially designed cocktail) but left with a lasting smug smile after his first ace in Dubai and the 8th ace of his looooooong career.
That was a stimulus to a major eclectic move that saw Dave Minchin move from 1st to 5th in Eclectic 7 as he relaxes in Bali. See the eclectic update with Monday’s results listed attached in the front spreadsheet – 4 rounds to go of Eclectic 7 and a whole host of players already at 67 and below!
Abu Dhabi Weekend
What a fabulous weekend, 24 attendees plus various wives and family members descended upon Abu Dhabi. Too many stories to tell but Friday night was one for the memory book – lots of golfing and World Cup stories and with only a hotel room to crawl too the whole crew were up until the early hours in the Y Bar – not knowing that in Yas the next day it would be 48 degrees!!!
Great courses, plenty of great golf played and a great atmosphere with everyone thinking why don’t we do this more often!!
Thanks to our sponsors, Fitness First who donated AED14,000 worth of Prizes and we were delighted to host Mark Botha, Nathan Brown and Nick Hymas who added a sporting edge to our weekend.

Overall 3rd – Andrew Smolak and Nathan Brown (Andrew shot a 75 at Saadiyatt, best gross of the weekend)

It started on Monday evening June 30th with Eclectic 7 week 7 with the highest average score ever of 16 points!!!!!!
