Faldo Back 9, March 25th

Monday we saw some high scores, with a group average of 15 points! After a lengthy absence from the society, Jason Bowers took first place with an impressive 21 points. Qamar Rasheed wasn’t too far behind with 18 points to take 2^nd place. Congrats!

Our nearest to the pins for the night were Randall Mohammed & Chloe Goodfellow.

We welcomed Daniel Bowers, and it was good to see Colm Kelly & Jason Bowers again.

 

Majlis, March 22nd

On Friday, we had a day at the Majlis also incorporating Rohit Reddi’s stag do. This time it was another white wash with our trusted organizer Russell winning the individual, the Longest Drive & NTP. Congratulations also to Wayne Connor & Sekhar Reddi for a joint second place with 29 points demonstrating how difficult the group found the course. We then kicked off to a rather lively good valued brunch that lasted long into the night!!!

Meydan, March 18th

 

Big week of golf last week, Monday at Meydan was dominated by our South African colleagues with Juan Prinsloo winning with a superb 20 points, while maintaining in the bar how victimized he feels with his 11 handicap. Let’s celebrate with him, his new single figure handicap for the coming week. Steve Steyn made a rare appearance and took second place with 19 points, with an excellent gross 38. Steve & Juan also cleaned up the NTP prizes to make it a South African white wash.

We welcomed Muhammad Khurram, Andrew Burrow & it was good to see Graeme Henderson & Steve Steyn

Faldo Eclectic Final, March 11th

What a finale! Could it be any closer? Final Eclectic scores were:

1^st Eric Koeman with 62.7

2^nd Russell Yeomans with 62.8

3^rd Dave Minchin with 63.7

4^th Filip Ranebo with 64.5

5^th Randall Mohammed with 64.7

Congratulations to all of the above & its refreshing to see Minchin finally give up his throne, with a little bit of help from Russell’s special rules. Thanks for the round of drinks Eric! There was a great turnout for our last Eclectic & we welcomed the following new participants – Benoit Montin, Fathi Al Busaidy, Malcolm Gray, Jane Gray, Mats Ranebo, Wilhelm Liden, Fredrick Carlsson, Phebus Georgiades & Duayne de Waal

On the evening, our freshmen dominated with Fathi Al Busaidy winning with 20 points & Duayne de Waal with 19 points. We then had 6 joint winners at 15 points, including Qamar Rasheed, Juan Prinsloo, Benoit Montin, Johnny Trichardt, Peter Scherer & Phebus Georgiades.
