MAY 2014 UPDATE

May 31^st at the ELS Results

The course was in superb condition. I played with Samantha, Andrew and Hayley  who all played great golf at times, Samantha had an unbelievable finish with 9 points in the last 2 holes to make 35 points. Her tee shot on 17 was a foot away from a hole in 1 but she made a net zero for 5 points. We thought this would be a winner but Mr Minchin came in with 36 points including an eagle 2 on the 16^th AND THEN a lifetime best from KRISTI SEALEY of 85 gross and 45 points blew everyone away.

Richard Aybar also shot a very credible 34 points on a VERY STEAMY day at the Els. Well done the names in bold!

 Thanks to Richard Ryba at the Els for taking time to look after us and sort us out the long table – and especially for greeting us off the course in a black suit and tie in 45 degrees heat – now that is what I call going beyond the call of duty!!!

Monday May 26th

Firstly congratulations to Monday’s winners at Meydan good turnout and thanks to Akram for dashing from Faldo to Meydan and with the traffic fines playing THE most expensive 9 holes in history!:

NTP – Jonathan Coates and we have to confess that no-one hit the 2^nd green – an embarrassing 1^st for the society in 2014!!

Monday May 19^th Faldo Front 9 – Eclectic 7 Round 2

Another great atmosphere on Monday with 22 players playing, socialising and networking with passion!. We welcomed newcomers Bruno Rosset, Umar Satdar (golf ball king) and Sami Benafie.
This weeks winner was Richard Aybar with 20 points, and hot on his heels were Dave Minchin, Kristi Sealey and Nicola Milton all with 18 points.

For those interested in real value balls, Umar has a large supply specially available for our members at AED100 per dozen (ProV1’s and 1x’s) – always useful around the Faldo! He will have a supply with him next Monday but feel free to email him on umer@golfspace.ae.

LATEST AVAILABILITY PLEASE

We have 27 registered for the DWC matchplay tournament so we will draw the leagues this week – 3 leagues of 5, 3 leagues of 4 with winners and 2 best runners up going into the quarter final. Rules will be ¾ difference of society handicaps, 9 hole matchplay so get focused as you will be thinking stableford on the night, eclectic over 12 weeks and matchplay – it is called multitasking so the female members are serious favourites!!!

Remember we are at Meydan this coming Monday May 26^th  as there is a competition on at the Emirates.

May 12th

The first round of  Eclectic 7 won in spectacular style by Chris Darnley with 23 points! A second personal best within 1 month!!! Congratulations! All these Monday nights at the Faldo are paying off!

Dave Minchin came second with 19 points - back on form! The ladies triumphed in the NTP’s  - Charmaine on the 12th hole and Nicola on the 17th. Congratulations to all.
Thank you for helping Christine out on Monday night Obe and Kristi, it was much appreciated.
